This is a highly recommendable pousada.. We were there in October which was the end of the dry season. We had plenty of opportunities to watch the wildlife during drives in surrounding areas (also after sunset), canoing in the lake, horsebackriding, and boattrips on the rivers and lakes. After reading an earlier review, we brought along mosquito nets but it turns out that in August, the dry season, you don't need them. Just plaster yourself with 'Off' or 'Fush' when you are outside at dawn or dusk. I would agree this is an excellent place - we arrived in fine style by boat - as the final section of the road was under water - it was great way to arrive! The site is some 4 hours mainly on bumpy dirt roads from the nearest airport (Cuiaba) so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with back problems.
