Caritas, the owner of the hostel, is incredibly friendly and will go out of her way to make sure you know your way around town. The hostel is a pretty small hostel, with family type atmosphere - the family lives there as well and their friends hang around regularly.
It has only 2 bathrooms, both with shower and toilet, no other separate toilet though which created a bit of a hazzle in the morning.

I arrived in Fortaleza off a late flight, so all I needed was a safe place to sleep for the night. I didn't see much of Fortaleza but I got the impression that the word safe was important after the taxi from the airport had to pass through two armed police checkpoints/roadblocks just to get to the city.

I loved too much stay there, with so much hospitality and kindness! A hostel always sins about privacy and intimacy but there, on this place you can feel how you're at home! I recommend it!

Hostel Terra da Luz is a nice and decent place! I liked there very much! The own Caritas is nice and confortable girl, she showed me the city and told where the good place were. Hostel Terra da Luz is a simple place, but very clean. I go there again :) Regards

Luz da Terra is really one of the nicest hostel we have been in so far in Brazil, from the Hola! association. It is a small and cosy hostel. The staff really were very friendly and helpful.
