We stayed here for 3 days in 2011. Stepping inside it felt less like a hotel and more like arriving at a friends house. All the rooms are individually decorated with rustic and antic charm. The staff were all vey helpful and eating breakfast in their small plant covered courtyard was a delight. We stayed 7 people and I would... More

I just came back from Brazil and stayed one night at this CHARMING hotel after spending five nights at the Tivoli Ecoresort in Praia do Forte (see review). This is a beautifully restored little gem of a small hotel loaded with charm and filled with wonderful staff. Our room (Ghana) was really lovely and had beautiful antiques and a fully... More

Staying here for Carnaval. Found it by wandering around and so glad we did. We moved from the Mercure hotel Rio Vermelho and glad we did. It is a small boutique hotel with 17 rooms. Each room is different but very spacious, decorated throughout as a colonial Portugese manor but all the modern amenities like wifi, satellite tv, quiet ac,... More

This beautiful hotel oozes charm and makes a visit in Salvador extra special. The rooms are beautifully decorated in Colonial decor, each unique, and the service is excellent and the location is ideal. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, definitely go to the restaurant. The food is superb and it's notably less expensive than other equally gourmet and... More

Our room, Calicut, was beautiful in every way. As we only had two days we enjoyed being on the main square and walked everywhere we wanted to go. Good restaurants within a few blocks. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Villa Bahia for 5 days at the start of our trip to northern Brazil & I think it's possibly the best hotel we've ever experienced. The building itself, the wonderful staff, the beautiful rooms - I cannot think of any improvements that can be made to this haven in the gem that is Pelourinho. The location is... More

I had made a reservation through Hotel.com and when I checked into the hotel I found the room to be dusty and moldy. The hotel is also on one of the main squares so it is very loud. After a few hours I went downstairs and spoke to the front desk about the mold and due to my allergies wanted... More

Beautifully restored old building. Every room is unique – be sure to check the website to pick the one that most appeals. The plumbing works, the beds are comfie, the linens first rate, and the décor is downright magical – in the rooms, the corridors, and the lobbies. We loved our street view room with a balcony accessed through floor-to-ceiling... More

-The hotel is amazingly well decorated and located in the iconic historical site of Salvador. The old house was well restored, and decoration was carefully selected to represent local culture and history. We arrived early evening and the desk clerk was welcoming, and recommended dinner at the hotel restaurant. There was a special salad being offered. The room was spacious,... More

An old mansion, finely decorated with antique Portuguese period pieces, this magnificent Hotel is ideally located, in the best part of the Peolurinho. The staff is extremely helpful, always attending your every need with a smile. I have only had breakfast at the hotel, which was outstanding in the variety of fruits and juices offered, as well as hot plates... More
