Paolo the owner is very helpful and always willing to offer some travelling (something he's very experienced in) advice. the hostal does a great little breakfast and y especially liked the "daily events" notice board with great ideas. more

Galeria 13 is a very nice hostel. It is located in the center of pelhourinho, which is without doubt the best neigbourhood to stay in when visiting Salvador.
