My opinion may be a little biased, as I had been in the middle of the jungle for an entire week in difficult accomodations. Not at a hotel, but had a bedroom, bathroom, no air conditioning, no hot water etc. Had to sleep with mosquito net and generator went off at 2 am. SO.... So the Tropical seemed like a... More

Stayed one night (thank goodness it was only one night). Before going on an Eco Tour. It's billed as a top 5 Star Hotel and all the billboards and photos are fancy but years out of date. The place was very run down and the bathrooms were mouldy. We complained and were given free wi if. That would have been... More

We stayed in Tropical Manaus for New Year's Eve on our way to a lodge in the forest. The hotel is quite big, and has an interesting atmosphere, but is not really worth the price. The rooms are ok in size and the wooden furniture and decorations are a nice touch, but the maintenance is a bit behind. The pool... More

I stayed in this hotel while en route to a fishing trip in the rain forest. The hotel is fairly old but but charming. The hotel lobby and bar are very well appointed. The rooms are outdated but the woodworking in the hotel is very interesting. If you are passing through, it will keep you dry and clean. The hotel... More

My partner and I stayed as part of a stop-off for a night on a Brazilian trip. When we arrived we were shown to a damp and dirty room with soaking wet stinky sheets, ominous stains on the linen and mould in the bathroom. yikes. the hotel itself was kinda creepy - lack of lights in the corridors and the... We stayed here for 2 nights prior to a river cruise. It's a huge sprawling hotel. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of room and the food in the hotel restaurants was excellent (if a bit expensive). The hotel has an old world feel; with elegant wooden floors, hallways & staircases. There's a small animal park on site... More

I've travelled to over 50 countries, but this is the only hotel in which I've stayed that had its own zoo. This is a huge place, overlooking the Rio Negro (the "smaller" brach of the Amazon) on the edge of the city of Manaus. It's a perfect base for exploring the Amazon region. I've stayed here twice and particularly recommend... More

We would stay here again, the views of the river were spectacular. The local bus can take you to town in 20 minutes... bus stand is 500 feet from lobby. More

Just a small trip away from the heart of the Amazon area. Lots of wood in this well constructed hotel. Well equipped rooms, although some of them very hard to reach for the elderly in our group. How big can a hotel get ? Still very good overall experience. More

This hotel was booked by our travel agency for the first night of an Amazone trip package . Our impression is that it had already been a great hotel but some renovations are required. Rooms are clean but a little bit deprecated. Location is far of downtown so restaurents in hotel are the only option. However, it's directly on the... More
