Even though I had been a loyal customer, the Henry Clay Inn insisted on charging me for a room even though I cancelled. Too bad because the train community loves their location. Maybe they will get new, reasonable management. They put little effort in the breakfast they serve. I would stay away from this property. More

This place did not live up to the B&B's that we have stayed in before. There is no innkeeper to greet you upon arrival to make you feel welcome. The inn has not been updated since the 80's. The inn also needs a lot of maintenance and repair. The paint is molded in areas and peeling. You can see rotted... More

Some collegues and I stayed at the Henry Clay Inn on a recent business trip. This hotel is billed as a quaint, older inn and that is exactly what it was. My room was very clean and adequate for what I needed. I had no problems the entire stay. The inn seems old, even older than it actually is, but... More

BEDS TOO SHORT. THE STAFF OVERSLEPT UNTIL 10AM SO NO BREAKFAST. Only staffed during biz hours so if you arrive late (past 5pm), you must pre-arrange to have the key made available with details instructions for the treasure hunt to find it. They offered a $10 coupon for our next vist which won't happen. WiFi WAS NOT AVAILABLE The delay... More

My husband and I booked a suite at the Henry Clay Inn for our recent anniversary. We have stayed at many inns, B&B's and hotels over the years for this occassion. We are most disappointed with this location. The Henry Clay Inn charges comparable prices as B&B's for their suite rooms. However, all that is included for breakfast is a... More

Booking the room was easy. I checked the on line calendar to see what was available, then called in the reservation. When I entered to check in, the lobby area was empty. I walked to the office window, and waited- too long. I actually finally had to say "Hello?" to get the attention of the manager! She apologized, but after... More

My husband and I always enjoy staying at a B&B when we are traveling. Last weekend, we attended a wedding in Ashland, Va, and I booked a room at the Inn. Upon check in, we were greeted by a very unwelcoming girl at the front desk who asked me to sign for the room, handed us our keys, and told... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying and taking the time to send in feedback. We appreciate hearing from you. We are very proud of our inn and the wonderful accommodations that we offer our guests. We are the third inn to have been erected in Ashland since the Civil War. The first two burned to the ground. The railroad is... More

My husband stayed at the HCI for one night in May. The town was very busy so we felt fortunate to have a room. The young girl at the desk-who was a student-was very sweet and friendly. Our room was very nice and clean. We looked around the inn and were very pleased. Our breakfast was good-we didn't expect a... More

I use to stay here twice a year- I won't be back - My second to last visit I was placed in a room close to the front desk- I arrived in the evening and was tired from the long journey- I went strait to bed- When I awoke I went into the bathroom what a nightmare it had been... More

We chose the Inn because of its location and the wonderful pictures of the building . At check in we did not feel welcome and it was as if we were intruding on the people in the office working on otherthings. We were in room 103 which is down a short hall from the front desk. Walking to and from... More

I was so sorry to find out only through tripadvisor that you were unhappy with your accommodations. Our inn is fast approaching our 18th anniversary and as with all properties we are constantly improving and updating. Just this past year we added wet bars to 5 of our rooms and turned one guest room into a suite for a family... More
