It has taken me too long to write this review. My husband and I had a delightful two night stay at this wonderful inn last fall. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and the food and hospitality could not have been better. It is a lovely, peaceful setting and the welcoming atmosphere is so appreciated. I strongly recommend that... More

the Inn is clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast: choose healthy or traditional (ask for the stuffed french toast). Located on a beautiful horse farm, you'll delight in the surroundings. Nice pond and relaxing waterfall. Friendly pets (but they are not allowed inside the house. Owner is very knowledgeable about the area. Ask about this family history for great stories. But... More

Hostess Cindy makes this one of the better bed and breakfasts. Lodging isn't new and it isn't fancy, but Cindy definitely cares about her guests being comfortable and all their needs met. As said in previous comments, she is a great cook and loves to share her talents. No recipes given out however! Truthfully I think it would take more... More

Arriving at Black's Fort Inn for a weekend retreat with my sweetie, we were warmly greeted by Cindy, with a plate of delicious lemon bars and hot tea. This gracious home was comfortable, quiet, and a joy to stay in. We got a delightful tour of the barn and introduced to the beautiful and personable gypsy horses that reside there.... More

Upon arrival, we received a warm greeting from Cindy, Jimmy and the sweetest black lab you have ever met. We were were shown to our comfortable and well-appointed suite. We returned for our second visit to Black's Fort Inn Bed & Breakfast over the New Year. We felt like we were returning home! Cindy had pumpkin creme brulee waiting for us in our refrigerator, and we were instantly at home in the Waterfall Suite. My husband doesn't normally sleep well away from our own bed, but he always gets... More

We didn't actually stay at Black's Fort Inn. We purchased a weekend getaway for our parents 40th anniversary. From the 1st email sent to all the details, Cindy was amazing. She suggested and helped plan surprises everyday for our parents. From what I hear, they were treated like royalty. If we ever go to Abington, this will be where we... More

The house is huge and comfortable. You get your own wing. Quiet. Right off main street but you dont hear any of the traffic. Relaxing. Wake up to a waterfall and horses grazing. Beautiful city and history. But the reason that I would come back, is without a doubt, the owners - Cindy and Jimmy. Wonderful people. Not enough good... More

Great location. Peaceful. Friendly owners. The pumpkin creme brûlée was excellent. We had this for dessert after we ate a wonderful meal at the Tavern. Breakfast was excellent the next am. Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Black's Fort Inn is truly a very unique Bed & Breakfast. Our property looks as if we are out in the country but we are right in the middle of town situated on nine acres with sculpted hills, lots of trees and rolling hills. We are able to provide our guests with privacy as most of our Bed & Breakfast is designed for that purpose. Our pond is nearly an acre and has a waterfall where the water cascades down over the rocks makes the most soothing, relaxing sound, creating one of the most peaceful settings in the world. The outdoor balcony is very spacious and inviting overlooks our farm, pond and waterfall. The pond also serves as a habitat for several species of wild fowl and if you can relax long enough you can see the Canadian Geese fly in and land on the pond for their rest before leaving the next morning. Our outdoor balcony is very spacious and inviting. It overlooks our farm, pond and the lovely waterfall. We have a second porch that is equally spacious including a grape arbor that winds up at a cozy covered porch with the perfect view of our waterfall. Our guests tell us how peaceful and beautiful our property is.I love to cook for all of our guests and one of my most famous & favorite breakfast dishes requested is our "Cat Head" Biscuits & Gravy.Such wonderful memories are made here, and we make so many nice friends. All of the priceless memories we have of each of our guests make us so happy that we can share our beautiful place with our wonderful guests. ... more   less
