On our way to Quebec we had an overnight in Vermont and another on our return trip. Whitford House was an excellent place to break our trip. We had the south room traveling north and the north room on the return trip. Both ways, we enjoyed the exceptional hospitality of our hostess/owner, Barbara Carson, and her talented staff of helpers.... More

We just had 4 couples spend the weekend at this beautiful Inn hosted by the Owner Barbara. There are htree rooms in the main house and then a guest house. So we had the enitre Inn to ourselves. We spent 2 glorious days biking the Champlain Valley bikeways with the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain to our West and The Vt. Green... More

We spent 3 nites at the Whitford Inn while visiting our daughter at Middlebury College. The innkeeper, Barbara Carson, is probably the MOST gracious person that I have ever met. Her service was as good as at any Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. She made all of our dinner reservations , gave us excellent driving directions but what was most... More

We stayed one night at this cute B&B in May 2009. The weather was terrible and rained the whole time that we were there but as far as the B&B was concerned, everything was perfect. The room was very pretty, we were given the room with the balcony over the street which was nice. The owner is very nice, friendly... More

We came to Vermont to see the fall colors. We did extensive research on B&B's. Hoping for the best, prepared for anything else, after two turns onto country roads at dusk that left us wondering, we found the bright, cozy Whitford House. If you have done your research, you've seen the professional reviews -- the physical facts, the amenities. It's... More

A lovely inn out in the country with gardens and sheep and lots of lawn and views. The owner and her helpers were super accommodating and very nice. We were offered wine and cheese when we arrived Sat. evening, which we had on the wraparound porch. We also had a delicious and copious breakfast. The inn itself is very interesting... More

My husband and I stayed at the Whitford House Inn for 2 nights in July. We actually visited with my parents who were visiting from Australia. From the moment we arrived we knew we had stumbled upon a gem! The house is gorgeous and the bedrooms spacious and clean. Our room upstairs even had a huge free standing bath tub... More

We stayed there this past June and loved it. The innkeepers, Barbara and Bruce Carson, are the nicest and most hospitable people you will ever meet. We left there feeling like we were family. You won't believe the scenic views. The inn is absolutely beautiful and Barbara has a special talent in mixing the old with the new. I have... More

I still dream about this place. Stayed here with my husband during a leaf-peeping trip last fall. Neither of us are fond of the Victorian chintz-explosion look that so many B&Bs tend to have, and Whitford House was blessedly free of it. The decor skillfully blends classic antiques, rustic farmhouse styles and modern/ethnic art for an eclectic, attractive look. The... More
