I come to Alta every January and have always stayed at Goldminer's Daughter. Snowpine Lodge was running an early season special that was too good to pass on so I booked space in the dormitory for myself and my 13-year-old son. Being used to a standard "hotel room" experience at Goldminer's Daughter, I didn't know what to expect of a... more

We made new friends and caught up with some old ski buds. I can't wait to get back and have a big plate of blueberry pancakes before heading to the tree runs off the Supreme chair, where the turns are SWEET! more

I stayed here with a friend of mine who just moved out to SLC about a week before our stay. We planned for a spring trip and as with normal Alta/Snowbird style, the weather cooperated. We got 12 inches on day 1, fresh tracks with blue skies on day 2, and another great spring day on day 3. While the... more

Several friends and I reluctantly checked in to the SPL based on the preference of one in the group. I say reluctantly, because (i) we weren't skiing the adjacent Alta mountain (2 of 4 are snowboarders so Alta was not an option), and (ii) "dorm" alone or paired with with "ski" is not a word any of us had used/considered... more

I went to Utah, alone, to ski. I looked at Snowpine and Peruvian and based on some local intel picked the Snowpine. I've traveled the whole world, literally, and have never felt more welcomed, at home, and well cared. The staff are great: friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The food was absolutely incredible! I really don't know how they do... more

This place is great for it's purpose, but you have to realize what it is and isn't. I've been there twice and loved it. But I've also stayed at dormitories in Frisco Co, and Aspen. Compared to those it was the Ritz. If snowy parking spots, stairs, rope tows and self sufficiency concerns you, you are at the wrong place.... more

I booked with Snow Pine at the last minute and after reading the reviews here on TA I was worried. In short its all true - the great, the bad, and the ugly. Simple but decent bedroom and beds (I had a downstairs double for @163), good access to the slopes (yes the tow bar can be tough at the... more

I'd like to take a moment to address the concerns listed here and inform readers of the changes we have made. In the many reviews of Snowpine Lodge there have been various comments regarding hot water and water availability in general. Let me assure the readers, first, that we have upgraded our water service. The biggest problem we had with...

I had so many face shots that i don't remember what the hotel was like. If you're a hardcore skier the only thing that you're really concerned with is comfort. the room was tiny, the mattress was hard but comfortable. The food was ok the first night but got sucker punched the second night with ravioli and beets? I watched... more

Once again, thank you for the opportunity to shed some light on some questions and comments form our guests. I am glad that this particular guest felt that Snowpine "worked" for them. I would like to apologize for their disappointment in their meal of ravioli and beets. I have addressed this issue in the previous review. To reiterate, this meal...

I spent 4 nights at the Snow Pine over the MLK weekend with my 9 year old son. This was my first (and last) stay at the Snow Pine Lodge, but I have stayed at most all of the hotels at Alta and Snowbird. The saving grace of the Snow Pine is its premier location right in the middle of... more

I wanted to take some time and offer some explanation in regard to the many issues this guest had during their stay. First, regarding the "painful" stairs. As someone who lives at the lodge, I can cretainly sympathize with this reviewer, having to travel up and down those same stairs many times a day. Many of our guests use a...
