We stayed at the Driskill this weekend while visiting Austin. The hotel was so elegant and the service was impeccable! The hotel smelled really good when you came in the lobby and the front desk staff was very welcoming. We loved that there were so many options for restaurants, etc. so close to the hotel so we could walk. Thanks... more

I have stayed in well over 100 different hotels in the United States for work and The Driskall in Austin, Texas was miserable and by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed. The front desk staff acted as if they had never heard of customer service and could really care less if anyone stayed at the hotel or not.... more

Couldn't believe we scored this hotel on Priceline for under $100. Absolutely gorgeous room and perfect downtown location. Bed was heavenly, and in-hotel cafe had fabulous breakfast. Highly recommend. more

Thought I would try the Driskill for a change, as I usually stay in the Stephen F Austin. Rooms are very small and my wife really disliked the bathroom/dressing area. Don't even try and find your room the first time without asking. You have to go up 1 level to the bar, and then take the elevator. If you are... more

I stayed at the Driskill for two nights with my three small sons. The hotel did a solid job from start to finish. The doormen were very helpful, check-in was uneventful. The room was of a suitable size, and the bathroom was fine. The shower had such a strong spray that my little boys were buffeted about - much to... more

The Driskill.... THE HOTEL: We spent 3 nights there 10/17-19..... First impressions WOW.... I said to my boyfriend... since we both walked in with backbacks and wearing jeans... "they don't want the likes of us here"... all joking aside.... when we got to the front desk...checking in was not a problem. Front desk girl was very nice and welcomed us... more

The Driskill is a great historic hotel. The hotel is in a great location and an easy walk to the state capitol and the 6th Street district as well as Congress Street. Austin is filled with great restaurants and the hotel can guide you to many of them that are all very close. The rooms here are on the smaller... more

The Driskell is a beautiful Victorian hotel, conveniently located downtown. The lobby is simply jaw dropping. The lounge, with its copper ceiling is phenomenal. The rooms are likewise very beautiful and comfortable. I hope to return to Austin someday and stay there once again. more

Had a similar experience to the previous reviewer... except we didn't get a great deal on Priceline! Paid over $300 a night for a most unpleasant experience. The smell upon entering the lobby was awful - like a sewer in my opinion. Also, the room was small with an extremely poorly designed bathroom. Checked out after one night and found... more

Pros: This Hotel looks cute/elegant but , that's it!!!!! Cons: Noisy, smelly, insecure and expensive rooms with confused bellmen and arrogant front desk staff. This place is OLD!! I booked 2 Senate rooms there, one for me and another for my mother. Both rooms very noisy with out a good air conditioning system( b/c it is old Hotel) very humid... more
