As mentioned by another reviewer, the Quarters at Harding House is excellent value. It is very clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and at 84 $ for a single room, incl. taxes and a very good breakfast, it is hard to beat.

Was recently in Austin for a friend's wedding and The Quarters at Hardin House proved a perfect place to stay in.
Only 3 blocks away from Guadalupe Street and a 5-minute drive to 6th Street--the two main shopping/bar/party/food drags of Austin--The Quarters is very well located.
