It can be a little unfair to review a property based on a single-night stay; imperfections are more easily magnified, and a good experience can partially mislead when it's based on just one night. But, that's exactly what must be done. This review was easy to write, but it was tough deciding on the final score. The La Quinta Austin... more

Room was damp and smelled weird. Icemachine didn't work. Lots of bugs in swimmingpool. No clean towels in pool area for days. Breakfast was pretty bad, juice was watered-down. Clean rooms though and good location. more

I stayed at this hotel while attending the ACL festival. First, let me say the staff is so friendly and helpful...so that is always nice. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom however was another story. There was mold all over the shower curtain. The overall feel of the room is that its an old motel... that they painted... more

We booked this on Hotwire and got a good deal for Austin centre 74$ all in. So we were generally pleased with our stay. We had travelled down from Fort Worth and called in at Waco to the Dr Pepper museum (only worth a visit if you are passing). We got there after check in time and checked in no... more

Arrived early on a Friday afternoon, and an early check-in was no problem. Quite possibly the nicest outdoor hotel pool I've ever used--immaculate! The rooms are spacious, more so than the average LQ, but nothing to challenge Hilton anytime soon or anything. The dining area for the free breakfast (with those famous waffles) sure seemed small but it was bizarrely... more

This is the lowest price for a hotel in a great location. The hotel is older than some of the others in the area, but the rooms are clean. Stay here if you plan to explore the city and won't spend too much time in your room. Free high-speed Internet and inexpensive parking are bonuses. more

My hubby and I traveled to Austin for a concert and the hotel location was perfect for us. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. However, the rooms left quite a bit to be desired. The room had a musty odor and for what we paid, I would have liked a clean, good smelling room. more

We just got back from SXSW 2009 in Austin. Our original plan was to share a room at the Intercontinental with a friend who was going for work and had a room through the Housing Desk for SXSW. When those accommodations fell through in early January, I suddenly needed to find a room close to the action that wouldn't break... more

We stayed at the La Quinta one night. Not a good experience. The location is in walking distance to everything--6th street, etc. However, the walls are paperthin. You can hear EVERYTHING going on next door and out in the hallway at midnight and 3am and 7am... The shower was built for people under 4 foot tall. I am only 5... more

Just got back from the ACL Music Festival. This is a great place to stay for proximity to the festival shuttles and downtown attractions. It is close enough to walk to just about anyplace you'd want to go, and when you're too tired it is easy to grab a cab or bus. Last year we stayed out near the airport... more
