This place had the most value for money space. The decor and appliances are that of 70's but everything in excellent working condition and very clean. Just that it looks dated. The room had a CRT TV with good cable channels. If you are a group of 4-5 their 2 bed suites got a lot of space. 2 queen beds in... More

Basically, apartments where some buildings are operated as a hotel. I got an especially low price, great considering that it was a packed weekend in Austin.

Location was perfect for our needs (in town for a family wedding) and our stay was pleasant. Yes, it's older and could use some refurbishing, but everything worked -- full kitchen, good hot shower, tv in both rooms, WiFi, comfy bed, very clean. Lots of space, parking at door, didn't hear traffic noise. Four nights averaged just a tad over... More

This hotel is a converted apartment complex. Interesting concept, but so-so execution. Probably better for extended stay needs rather than our one-night stay as the room has a small kitchen and full-size refrigerator/freezer. Cleanliness was okay, but not spectacular. On check-in I was nearly issued a smoking room (I had requested non-smoking at booking), but I saw the sign about... More

OK, so the Allandale is not really a hotel, it's an old apartment complex where the units are rented out by the night, or to extended stay guests. There's absolutely no doubt that it's an apartment complex, despite some of the advertising. The unit we stayed in was old, the carpet was worn, the TV's were elderly, and the kitchen... More

I recently booked a room for my parents here. My husband and I live in Allandale (the immediate surrounding neighborhood) and they had stayed there when it was the Summerfield Suites and liked it. Apparently, unfortunately since then the quality and service has gone downhill, while the price has gone way up. Their room smelled musty and dank, and there... More

We stayed here in march of 2012 while atending the state basketball tournament and we were disappointed.Last year we stayed here and got free hot breakfast, hapy hour, and a 125.00 rate for the 2 bedroom suite. Now in 2012 we got no hot breakfast, no happy hour, a 195.00 rate despite being told that our rate would be the same... I feel like I'm staying at one of the motels Clark Griswold and family stay at in the movie "Vacation." I check in, and the guy has me sign a think saying that I won't make too much noise in the hotel. That was warning sign number one. I figured they wouldn't ask me to sign this unless this were... I made the reservation because it was a competitive price for it's location relative to downtown and because I like to support local business but, this was just a sad experience. It was indeed adequate but, should not be described as a BOUTIQUE hotel. It is far from that. The bed was not comforatable - a far cry from the... More

Adequate. Period. Apparently was an attempt at a condo complex that wasn't making it--so trying to call itself a "hotel". Claims to be near downtown and near UT Campus....HA!! It's 7+1/2 miles from Campus, and the drive takes a minimum of 16 minutes. The rooms are not bad, but the door/key is very difficult to manipulate. It's setup like a... More
