My wife and I loved our stay at the Antelope Lodge. We arrived on Thanksgiving after a long drive and when I asked where we could eat they showed us to their kitchen where they had the biggest Thanksgiving spread I've ever seen. We ate a huge Thanksgiving meal and felt like we were at home even though we couldn't... More

We stayed here while attending a conference at Sul Ross University. As others have noted it is an old-time motor court : a series of units, two to a building, with a central patio and basic furnishings. The staff was helpful and answered questions. There is an interesting rock display and gift shop adjoining the lobby. My kids would have... More

We have enjoyed staying at the Antelope Lodge due to it's closeness to central Alpine and due to the fact they have a real kitchenette with stove. We like to eat in sometimes and this is the best bet. The neighborhood is a bit down but we've never had any trouble except for one night with a barking dog in... More

Thank you for your very nice review. Just wanted to let you know that we've replace all the old air conditioners with new, quiet ones this fall. More

Stayed at this old-time motor lodge with my 13 year old Son. He hadn't seen many "motor lodges" before. The structures were dated, and the amenities are very simple or crude, but the price was reasonable and the personnel took interest to make sure we got everything we wanted and were satisfied. The bedding was very(very) simple, and although in... More

First, let me assure everyone that each of our rooms has a refrigerator in the kitchenette, and they all work. I emailed this reviewer and he admitted that he hadn't looked for the refrigerator, and just hadn't noticed it. I would like to suggest that anyone who wants to write a review check the facts FIRST. This guest could have... More

This quaint motel was built in 1949 and looks like it has been well maintained. If you are looking for what a motel looked like in the 40's and 50's or want to do a retrol trip then this is the place for you. They even have wifi and tv. Rates are fairly cheap for the area and the owners... More

I really wanted to love this place because it is charming and relaxing around the courtyard, and I like places that are a bit different. And I did love it, at least until we tried to get some sleep. It wasn't that it was too loud but the bed was just sooo bad. I think this bed might have been... More

My husband and I have owner the Antelope Lodge for 16 years. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service. But we can't fix a problem if we don't know it exists. Again, this review was written by someone who didn't talk to us about his problem. The mattresses in the suites are new, firm pillow-top mattresses, and not everyone likes... More

I love that the owners of this late 1940's motor court are endeavoring to keep the funky charm of it in the face of competition from cookie-cutter hotel & motel chains. We stayed in Room #5 which faces onto a lovely courtyard dominated by a huge tree that's lit with pretty little lights at night. I sat on a picnic... More

Our bad luck to rool into town on Sul ross graduation night, and no rooms in town...except #13 at the Antelope Lodge. This place is a dump. Since the door did not lock, we stayed inside, armed, and baracaded the door. the bathroom is ridiculously small. the only plusses were it was there, relatively cheap, and we didn't pick up... More

First, let me assure you that all the room doors at the Antelope Lodge do indeed lock. Otherwise, why would we ever have given you a room key? If you couldn't figure out how to lock the door, you could have gone to the office or called us, and we would have sent someone out to show you. Your comment... More

First off, I'm sad to hear about the health of John, one of the owners & pray for his condition to improve. I took a w/e road trip to Big Bend National Park and to explore the region last summer. I always try & seek out kitschy Indy motels and this was one that came up as I research lodging... More

I've stayed at the Antelope Lodge many times and in many different rooms. All are equally as nice. Sure it's an older place...that's why I like it. Maybe it's because I don't 'look' for a reason to leave. I think if I was as unsatisfied as the previous reviewer was, I'd have packed up, asked for my money back (whether... More
