We have been coming to Ashland three or four times per year for many years to soak up its culture, people, and amenities. Since we always travel with our Chinese chow chow, we look for B&Bs that allow us to include her in the trip. While we have found a few B&Bs in Ashland that allow dogs, Ellen at the... More

We stayed 2 nights in room Pertelotte which has direct access to a very pretty garden terrace with table/chairs/Umbella. Room was a good size, very tastefully furnished and decorated. Very nice guest sitting area. Breakfast was served at 9.00 with all guests on a single table, joined by Ellen (the inn keeper) when we were there. Top quality food and... More

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Chanticleer Inn last August. We are frequent visitors to the "Oregon Shakespeare Festival" in Ashland and wanted to stay in a new property this visit. The room was very comfy, air conditioned (thank goodness in August), and the surrounding gardens serene. Ellen's breakfasts were excellent and her staff attentive. We'll be... More

We stayed overnight at the Chanticleer B&B in Ashland, OR. A lovely bed and breakfast: really comfortable bed, beautiful gardens, excellent breakfast and super location. An easy walk to town, the theaters and the great shops of Ashland. And a wonderful surprise is Ellen, the proprietor, who is friendly and welcoming and makes you feel like you're staying at the... We wanted a nice place to stay while we went to the theatre and visited friends in Ashland. The Chanticleer is within 8 blocks of the theatres and is lovely. Pleasant room, quiet, restful gardens and wonderful breakfasts. We will definitely be back. More

Innkeeper Ellen Campbell has created one of the most comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, delicious, and pristine lodging experiences ever. Her attention to detail--from the Craftsman fixtures to the strategically-placed sitting areas and umbrellas outside to ensure comfort and conversation to the meat eaters/vegetarian variations to her sumputous breakfasts--add up to a memorable stay. I look forward to our family's next visit!... More

Chatting with Ellen and guests at breakfast was a highlight of the day - on a par with the fabulous plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Broad ranging conversations over gourmet breakfasts. I spent a lot of the weekend when not at the theater writing on my book; such a wonderful support to work quietly in my room overlooking the... More

The house is lovely, the gardens are magical and Ellen is wonderful. The room had every amenity you could want from soaps and shampoos to a good reading light and comfortable bed. Ellen keeps a large file of her favorite restaurants and one of her recommendations (an Italian restaurant a few blocks away) had excellent food and great service. We... More

Going for the Shakespeare Festival, not wanting to bother with a rental car, feeling deserving of an E-ticket getaway, I perused the Ashalnd B&B's, prepared to pay $200 per night for a memory experience. I chose the Chanticleer for proximity and because it offered vacancy on the dates I needed lodging. When Innkeeper Ellen answered the door on my arrival,... More
