Researched a lot about hotels and apartments in KL & settled for this due to location. Yes it’s dated and in old Malay style but was quite nice to see. Room was big, bed and pillows comfortable and water replaced daily. Bathroom was huge, shower pressure good and toiletries replaced. Pool was ok with enough sun beds around it. But the best part had to be breakfast. The choice was vast with noodle, egg & roti stations. There was food from across the world and about 8 choices of bread, including Focaccia. Staff were polite. All in all, if you’re ok with some old style decor, for the price, I’d give it a go.

We were here last year and have stayed every year bar covid for 10 years..we booked direct from the UK. it took a while but I git a goid deal the hotel is undergoing refurbishment but its a steady process. .breakfast choice is vast and good quality special mention to tofayal and sauful who are a credit to the hotel...they welcome you warmly and before you sit at table there is tea and juice waiting for you...they do work extremely hard and always smiling. ..we had to change rooms as air con wasn't working...but not a great problem...second day salauddin..who was our room cleaner years ago saw our name on the guest list and came to welcome us back and has checked on us every day. what a excellent t ambassador for the chulan.in conclusion whilst this hotel dies need some tlc ..the staff more than make up for shortfalls you might encounter. .I would respectfully suggest that the chulan look after thier best assets...the staff

Stayed here for 2 nights. The first night we had no hot water. What water we did have was brown. The room needs a very good clean. There was dust everywhere. The bathroom was disgusting. The sink would not drain. I removed the plug which had a filter attached and this was blocked with many previous guests hair. The reception staff and hotel manager were not interested in our complaint. They offered a free piece of cake. There was hot water the second day. If you do not have any issues the hotel would be fine.

We are currently staying at this hotel. Got back to the room to have a hot shower after a very long, hot, sunny day. The water is cold! We reported it but were told that luke warm water and that's being generous is OK. It definitely is not! It's totally unacceptable to have no hot water in the room!!! We also have a sink that is blocked! We have a further night here let's hope things improve.

This is a nice hotel, unfortunately with quite a few snags. When you arrive, the hotel lobby is well air conditioned and very opulent. Lovely circulation spaces, nice settees to sit down. Upon checking in, the absolutely essential information is offered. That's your room number, here are your access cards, the lifts are over there. For a hotel of this standard, a little more could be offered... Info about breakfast, hotel restaurants, facilities, maybe a basic city map. So now we get to our room. Spacious, nice finishes, a pleasant room. But there is NO INFORMATION. Nothing. Not even a sign that tells you which phone number connects you to reception. Nothing about breakfast or dinner options in house. The toilet trickles permanently. Day and night. Come on, housekeeping is in there every day. Someone should notice and report it. The air conditioning is noisy and not particularly effective. After a few days we decided to fully explore the hotel. There is an actually very nice rooftop pool of a very good size with nice sun loungers and a bar. But there is hardly anyone there and the bar is closed. I would guess a little more information in the rooms would see more people using this area. On our last day in the hotel it rained, and we wanted an umbrella for going out. Most hotels of this grade would have an umbrella in the room. Because there wasn't, we asked the concierge if there were any umbrellas available. Unfortunately all had already been handed out. Would i stay here again? Possibly, because the location is good and the price is competitive. But it does fall short of even a three star experience.

Recently, Check in at Royal Chulan KL again and i like this hotel very much, this hotel is my first choice because of the location near to tourist spot but this time check in is more special because of my son special wedding reception. Our room was upgraded, we feel been appriciated be a loyal to this hotel. Room was nice and clean, nice view with full amminities. My family was impress and we really happy. After very tired with our son wedding reception, back to hotel to refresh and we had a fantastic sleep with nice pillow and the quality of bed that they have. I realise that the new management under leadership of the Group GM Mr Badrul with wide experiece in this hospitality industry will bring this hotel to the next level and to be excellent. The hotel look much better then before, staff is friendly and coutious with profesinallism in dealing with the guests. Appeal parking space. Unbeliveable with varities of breakfast food and selection of hot and cold beverages. We really enjoy with our breakafst after busy night with the wedding reception. To Ms Jamie, For us you are the best FOM that I met so far, she did a good job in handling our booking and the arrangement of out room. Once again thanks to Mr Badrul, Ms Jamie and all of the staff of ROYALE CHULAN of KUALA LUMPUR. I will come and stay with you again.

This is a gem. I do not regret booking this hotel though it is an old hotel. It is still well maintained. Room was comfortable & clean, and I had a restful sleep at night. Breakfast was also good with adequate variety to choose from. If one does not mind a little walk to the KLCC area, this is a good option for hotel stay not too far from KLCC and its convention centre.

I stayed several times as a guest at Royale Chulan Hotel. This last has been one of the best.. kindness, availability, care, even more better than other times. I received an upgrade at checkin, I enjoyed the wonderful Spa and the rich breakfasts. And all in the context of the wonderful traditional architecture of the structure, with refreshing green and water, in the most central position in KL. Wonderful job! I’ll come back again, thank you.

This hotel is a great destination to stay - especially for work. However, please see below my own experience analysis and grading: Hospitality 6/10 Food and beverages in the hotel 7/10 Food and beverages for conferences 4/10 low quality and taste Location 9/10 Customer service 6/10 you have two kinds of staff - either (pleasant and welcoming) or (rude and impatient) Rooms 6/10 rooms are deteriorated and many appliances and furniture pieces are old Also, it is really noisy during the day ( at the date of this evaluation ) because of the construction going on around the hotel premises. All in all, if you want to come to this hotel, you will come for two main reasons: location and price.
