stayed at this hostel for 3 nights in April 2007 -- not a bad experience but would look at some other (similarly priced $30/night) places (probably a ryokan-type) next time in Osaka. Converted from a traditional Japanese house, bottom floor is common area (smoking allowed), shower (through common area, doesn't lock, but other hostel'ers seem to respect closed door), bathroom...
