Rooms are tiny but clean. The hotel is affordable, not cheap. One will not find a cheap hotel in Kyoto. The location is perfect, just around the corner of the subway. Nice neighborhood with many restaurants. Actually you can walk to Gion in about 20 min.

We stayed in this hotel for about a week. It's very close to the metro station and you can easily walk to the center. The staff were very polite and they could speak English, which is a very rare thing in Japan. We booked our room on the internet from abroad and had absolutely no problems.
