We spent two nights at this place and overall had a very nice experience. We were very pleased with the hotel, the room and service. Five stars for the hotel, their staff and service. I wish all hotels were as wonderful and easy to work with as this place. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was recommended by my mother who frequents Kyoto often. As they say, mother knows best, I loved this hotel! Slightly off the main drag of Central Gion, it is a luxury hotel located next to the Kyoto Imperial Palace (a jogging map around the Imperial Palace is provided at the hotel). To Central Gion by taxi it is... More

This is a gem of a hotel. The nicest we stayed at in Japan. It was quiet, with very helpful and pleasant staff. The lobby atrium was a nice place for a little afternoon tea break. The rooms were comfortable. I would go back to the Brighton and have already recommended it to our travel agent who had never sent... More

Stayed here for 4 nights, arriving from Kanazawa by JR train. We took the metro to Karasuma-Oike where had to catch the hotel shuttle bus. As it is common in Japan, one has to know which exit out of the many exists, to choose - I had to call the hotel to ask which exit to take - it's exit... More

The hotel was a great value - large rooms by Japanese standards and quite comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, especially the concierge team who were very knowledgeable about transportation and attractions. The large atrium lobby was pleasant, afternoon tea a tasty respite. The only downside is the location- but a shuttle takes you to the subway and... More

The hotel is nice. The concierge service was amazing. High praises for their help in planning the trip and providing recommendation. All staff was extremely attentive and courteous. Location was a bit out, but the shuttle bus can compensated for it. Located within short walking distance of the Kyoto Imperial Palace and short taxi rides to the Golden and Silver... More

This was our last stop in Japan, we stayed here for one night. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly. No concerns about noise, but I share the observations about the price of the food compared to other establishments. The kids did enjoy the opportunity to have western style dinner for room service dinner,... More

We chose this hotel due to the positive reviews on tripadvisor. The hotel itself is decent, nothing fantastic but comfortable enough. We had a room with 2 twins/doubles for 2 adults and 2 kids. The room was decent, slightly dated, but sufficiently clean and quiet. Didnt have b/fast included nor did we try it. The reason I gave it an... More

Yep it's off the beaten path but there's a free shuttle that runs to and from a main subway every 20 minutes ON THE DOT. Subways and buses are easy to use, and we only took taxis at night if we were tired. We stayed at Brighton for two weeks while visiting our son who lives in Yamashina. Yah my... More

We are professional travelers, traveling about 4 months a year. We normally don't complain, but this time is exceptional.
