When I stayed UTANO Youth Hostel , full with Japanese familly and group. Because after Hukusima EarthQuake. 8 people are from Austraria, USA. You could cook here evryday, and even could try Japanese Big BATH. In this hostel, I cooked and drank a Beer , it was a so nice dinner to me. I highly recomend UTANO Youth Hosttel .

This is more a resort rather than a youth hostel. I really felt this to be a great place to stay. Nice room with a definite Japanese feel to it. it's at the edge of the city, so check out the bus schedule, but it's really great!! splendid building, great rooms, the staff is really friendly and the traditional bath are exceptional!!

I enjoyed my stay at Utano youth hostel. It was inexpensive, close to public transportation, had a nice patio, as well as beer and "Chu-Hai" sold at a vending machine.(2005) It wasn't glamorous or anything, just had a chill vibe to it. I had a great time and remember this hostel specifically, so it must have been ok. Rocommended!

Really a very nice place to stay. The staff are super nice and friendly not to mention helpful as well . i love the common dining area. Get to meet so many differnt people from different nationality.
