Hotel is well situated close to the main Kyoto Railway Station. Reception and other staff are all friendly and helpful and most speak good English. Lely Hotel right outside the Kyoto station literally a minutes walk ( assuming you choose the right exit) Rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast is basic but edible. The bathroom is small but that's Japan ! Once you have your bearings it's easy to find good restuarants but start by sampling some of those in the station.

Rooms are very noisy and tiny. Forget about your 2 big suitcases you probably have when coming as couple from Europe, not even possible to store below bed!
