This is a nice hotel, but not really a family run Ryokan at all. Room was on the small side for Kyoto ryokans and it felt a little 'fake'. The staff is polite and helpful and they have male staff now...so maybe they can help with heavy luggage. Small inn stretched over three separate buildings in a maze-like neighbourhood, 15 to 20 minutes walk from the main train station. Simple, clean accommodations. Cheerful and helpful staff. A 10mins walk from Gojo station which is 1 stop from Kyoto station. Just beside Gojo station is 7-11 which is convenient. Room is small but clean.
