We had great time here. Toru and Anna were very nice. It's not far from the station.

The hostel is in a good location, in a quiet street about 10 minutes walk from the station. I met some amazing travellers there and are good friends with them now after returning home. The hostel has good facilities and their internet connection is fast. For Japan, their price is unbeatable. I would stay again for sure.
It's slightly out of the way, although 10 minutes walk from JR Kyoto. Also the check in was a little later than I would have liked as I recall, but there is a nearby park where I chilled out unitl the place was ready.
It's as cheap a place as you'll find in Japan and is clean and with a...

if you're a fancy traveller, do not even get close to this guesthouse. However, if you're the type of traveller who will leave the hostel EARLY in the morning and go explore the whole city/town - and come back at night to just throw ur body on the mattress, this place is great.

Bad - NOISY OLD
If less money is the best for you, try this guesthouse. One of the cheapest inn in Kyoto. But mind you, the building is very old and you cannot sleep without earcap. May be I was unlucky to stay some nights there with noisy girls in...

This place is cheap but that's about all there is to it.
It's beds are clean and there are female dorms( Not that I'm one)
But otherwise, the common room is terrible( Pay Internet with a futon that is placed as...

Stayed two nights with one friend in a private room.
Location is close to Kyoto Station which is good but kind of far from everything that you may want to actually go see.
The building is really old - they ask you to walk slowly. Shower was fine. Bathroom at a C level. Washer and dryer there (didn't use though)....

A very old, tired hostel. You can hear every sound of every person in the whole building, all night. The room was very cold. The shared facilities are very old and there are only 2 showers between all of the rooms (16 or so, including several dorms) and the toilets were pretty smelly and old. The kitchen is tiny and...
