Fantastic location, a big modern hotel, loads of bars restaurants and cafe's. The hotel is attached to the recently built station and is a bit of a modern design treasure. Whilst you are here looking at the historical sites make sure that you find time to look around the station building to, it is stunning. The roof garden, the staircase... More

My wife and I were so happy in Granvia. The trip started awkwardly; we decided rather late to visit Kyoto for the weekend so when we booked the room the only left were smoking rooms. GHASTLY! But we wanted a get-a-way and the hotel staff repeatedly assured us the rooms are thoroughly cleaned and we would not smell the vile... More

This is a great hotel in a great location. There were numerous shops and restaurants in the same complex. The hotel decor was updated and the service was great. We were always greeted when walking to the elevators or upon entering one of the many restaurants. The rooms were spacious and in room amenities were very nice, from the pajamas... More

As a tourist wanting to visit everything in Kyoto, I can not imagine a more convenient hotel. Located in the train station it was easy to find when we arrived from Tokyo. At the bus and subway hub, each day we could start out immediately to the part of the city we were to explore and ended each night back... More

I wasn't expecting this to be a luxury hotel so I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is in a great location, part of the Kyoto station. The rooms facing the Kyoto Tower are very quiet. My room faced the tower and was away from the elevator and that was just fine because I didn't want the noise from the elevator disturbing... More

We stayed here for a week in May 2013. This was our first trip to Japan. We selected a "superior twin" room. The room was quiet (with the minor exception of being able to hear the train announcement tones from the track below as a faint background, we did not find that this affected our sleep; we were on the... There is no central location to stay in in Kyoto. Therefore, staying at the train station is a perfect place to start from since the bus and subway as well as the fast trains that run all over Japan emanate from here. Excellent internet, breakfast was included (both western and Japanese) which was substantial, and there is a special rate... More

The room was large and well equipped. The amazing views from the 15th floor were amazing. Simply stunning looking over the Kyoto Tower, city and mountains in the background. The room was always made up well and completely clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful. There was a few areas of dust (on top of the TV... More

This was my third visit to the Hotel Granvia. It is still among my favorite hotels. My feeling this time was that more of the staff have some English. The concierge station is as fantastic as ever. My first morning, the staff researched a No play I had heard would be performed at one of the temples that day, which... More

We stayed here for 2 days and couldn't be happier. It ranks very high for us among hotels worldwide we stayed, and we travel a lot. The location is excellent for train travelers, sightseeing, and connection with shops, restaurants, and a beautiful train station. We had earlier stayed at the Okura in the historical center but felt that the train... More
