Hotel Tomoe was the only reasonable option we found during the Golden week holidays. The hotel is very close to Sannomiya station, Kitano and main nightlife attractions. 5 minutes walk from the station and all the action (but slightly hard to find) Mr. Tsuji is very friendly and might even sing Sinatra for you but unfortunately no one speaks English on staff. Rooms are small but clean and very reasonably priced considering the location. Don't miss the Green Cafe nearby. They have both Japanese and Western style...
