we stayed there for one night, didn't have any other option in the price range due to high season. The room was 4.5 tatami, we're short people but still could hardly fit our luggage and lay the futon on the tatami - opening the door became a real challenge. We booked this ryokan over the phoen (in English). The lady didn't speak much English but did her best. When we arrived, she was at the door and gave us a wholehearted welcome! Booked thru Hostelworld.com Got some bug bites outside the door so use repellent. It's nearby the waterway. Very steep stairs which are not very deep so if you're wearing those mandatory slippers which never fit can be quite dangerous! It's quite hot upstairs but the A/C does work well.
