Stayed a couple of nights during a one week trip in China and found the hotel to be of high standard. It is a low rise block next to the West Lake and there is an underpass to cross the road to the lake instead of risking your live in crazy China traffic. It is more than 8 years old... More

Great location next to west lake. Hotel is old tired and badly needs a refurb. Still charging top rates but dishing up a substandard hotel. Just a Sofitel.

Just as others have mentioned, this is not a Sofitel. There is nothing 5 star about it. The location is good, right across the road from the Westlake, but that’s where the positive ends. We stayed on the club floor due to the bad reviews, as we thought that by paying a little extra we might get a decent room.... More

Location is great but room is dated...the aircon in our room was faulty and it was so warm we couldn't sleep well all night. Though we were a couple they gave us a twin room (stating our room rate only entitled us to a twin room), a bit of flexibility would be appreciated here.
