Located in a quiet corner of the city, this hostel had the feel of a budget hotel (I think it probably used to be one). The rooms were simple but spacious. It was easy walking distance to the sights around the city and about a 30 min walk to the bus/train station. We booked transport to the airport through them.... More

Near the city center and the river...the location is excellent. Peaceful area. The rooms are comfortable and reasonable with the price. You won't find a luxury hostel, but you have all you need. The staff is helpful and they offered us some typical products during the stay! We recommend it!

Location: good location, within close walking distance to the city centre. Right across the road from the river. Taxi drivers know how to get there with no problems. We felt very much at home at 'This Old Place'. The room was comfortable and the location was very convenient. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and full of advice for travel in the area and further afield. We would definitely return to 'This Old Place' if we make it back to Guilin again in the future.
