About five years ago , I spent two nights at Hotel Rostov which was an enjoyable experience. The room was not large but adequate at the back of the hotel overlooking the restaurant which had a glass pyramid roof and looked good at night.(must look great when it is snowing) The staff were helpful and the hotel is close within... It's absolutely true, the hot water doesn't depends of the hotel and comes from the city power plant, so if the power plant have some problems you hadn't hot water for a couple of days, but...nobody takes care of!!! To pay with credit card is like the lottery, sometimes you can, sometimes you can't The breakfast is one of the... More

Just returned from a week's business trip to Russia staying in the Rostov Hotel. Looks the part - Soviet era but very comfortable and practical, situated right in the city centre.. Food was excellent with extensive choice for dinner - recommend the fried potato with onions, so tasty... Bank and bar next door and plenty variety near by. Nothing to... More

Welcome back to Soviet style Intourist gray all the way place! One night won't kill you but if you're there for more then that, search for a better place! Classic Soviet design, single bad, funny TV, empty mini bar and tough breakfast. Big hotel with many rooms, not all of them are covered with hotel's Wi-Fi so check your luck!

I stayed in the "economy" room and it was perfect for my trip. Location is right in the centre of town- walking distance to all major places and on main bus route as well. Price of room includes a nice buffet breakfast. If you don't like typical soviet style rooms, better choose a single or double. Cleaning staff were very... More

Bottom lines: English speaking staff? Yes, some. English speakers won't have any trouble except with housecleaning staff Clean? Yes Internet? Yes, though a bit slow. On site restaurant? Yes. On site Hertz agency is a plus. I'd recommend this hotel, though I'm not sure if I'd recommend Rostov as a city.

I went and reserved the Studio suite which is fair price of 100 dollars per night. It might be steep for some but if you want a decent quality room this is the best bet to rent. If you plan on going for a small room your not going to enjoy your stay compared to some people. Anyway what's great... More

This is a place that reflects soviet history :terrible design and terrible service. We stayed here for 4 nights. The public areas of the hotel looked gloomy and dusty, with surly staff... The room itself was cramped , totally outdated and ugly but functional...at least, it served a purpose to sleep. There was a cable TV with 1 English channel(CNN). It was... More

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Rostov (Gostinitsa Rostov). The hotel is nice and we had no problems. We stayed on the 4th f in the special comfort rooms . We were just expecting a few nibbles but breakfast was nice with continental ,Russian and other choices. We paid $160 per night for a room in... More
