We stayed at the Kempinski Moika in St Petersburg for four nights early April 2012 and couldn't fault it. Very friendly staff who all spoke English. Amazing buffet breakfast. Business brought me from NY to St. Petersburg and although I would usually stay somewhere a little less luxurious, my company put me up in this hotel, which was exceptional. The fitness center and the spa in particular were great, as my wife has got me addicted to the sauna. I would strongly recommend for any business traveller.

What you pay is not exactly what you get. Rooms are not the greatest but where ok. The entrance hall of the hotel could be better. There is a nice quiet bar that adjacent to the entrance hall. The Kempinski Moika 22 is a typical example of Russian Bling. With all the trappings of luxury, and prices to match, they still can't get it quite right. As they themselves say, "St Petersburg is often called the capital cultural of Russia" Tries hard, but lacks true class.

i think this hotel is largely for business people but it didnt feel like that, apart from the brilliant wifi - free and large band width! The location is very central and you can walk to most places, while the staff are pleasant and helpful. While we were there local children came into the reception area to sing and dance... More
