The first visit to Moscow definatley gave me an appetite to go back, especially if i could afford this hotel again! Everything you would expect from a hotel close to the government buildings, gold/chrome/mirrors/statues/history/guys in dark glasses and long coats/hushed meetings - Moscow at its best. Probably the best breakfast I've had anywhere in the world - a harpist played for half an hour during the peak time and the selection of food was second-to-none (cereal, full cooked breakfast, eggs, German cheese and meat, Champagne and fruit, breads, croissants, yoghurt etc. etc. etc ... in fact the only thing missing was black pudding :-) The room... more

Stayed two nights on a business trip. My room overlooked the golden ring bvd and faced one of the stalinistic cathedrals surrounding the city (with the bed positioned so that you have the best view, dramatic indeed). This is nice hotel but I would not rate it a 5 star. Rooms are clean. Don't use the phone for calls. I got charged 350$US for a 25 minute call to Canada even though it said 6 roubles/minute in the binder. Breakfast buffet was alright but way too expensive at 1300 roubles. I satyed in the Golden Ring during my business trip and for sure it is very good hotel with high quality services. Staff is friendly. Rooms are large and comfortable. Overall impression is positive and I want to come back there in the future. more
