The Hotel is quite centrally located, but we were there for a business trip and we would have enjoyed to take a last drink at the bar before going to bed, which wasn't possible, because the bar was always closed. Everything was clean though and breakfast was ok, even though I would have prefered a buffet. The price is average... More

We were booked at this hotel by the tour company, and found it to have a reasonably good location, and easy walking access to the city. The customer service was fair: excellent English language capability of the staff, and they did try to accomodate some requests. I have to say that we found it strange that they were stingy with... We have stayed in standard double room for 1 night being in Moscow on weekend to have a rest and visit MAKS Air Show 2011. So we have arrived to hotel at 10 p.m. after a long day on the air field Location: 5 minutes from "Chistiye Prudy" metro station walking down to the silent "Arkhangelsky" street and here is... More

I was booked in here by the organisers of the conference I was speaking at and after reading the two most recent reviews I approached it with some trepidation, not helped by the huge difficulty my taxi driver had in finding it, despite me giving him the hotel's map from the website, but in fact it was fine and I... On the second floor without an elevator and staff indifferent to helping with bags. WIFI did not reach my room, the signal was "very low". It worked by the reception desk and the staff could not see that was a problem. Making Skype calls in the lobby was not what I had in mind! This is not a hotel in... More

I've stayed on multiple occasions at the A1 Hotel in Moscow. It has strengths. It is modern in construction, very well located, and is small, so that one can get personalized attention. But its owners have not done anything to improve on the weaknesses, and so every time I stay here the place gets worse. The beds become more worn,... More

I recently stayed for 9 nights at the A1 Hotel, and had a wonderful time. My friend and I arrived on New Year's Eve to find complimentary champagne for the occasion in our room. The hotel is clean, neat, and very comfortable, and the front desk staff spoke excellent English. We found the complimentary breakfast offerings to be very generous.... More

The A1 is, hands down, the most bang for your buck (or ruble, as the case may be) in Moscow. I went to Moscow for business but wanted to stay for the weekend (on my own dime), and was dismayed to find that most nice places (without shared bath) in downtown Moscow were about $300/night. However, I was lucky enough... More

This is a great Hotel in a great neighbourhood with smallquiet streets and many embassies. By feet its around 10 minutes to the red place and the kreml which makes the hotel a fantastic basement for exploring moscow by feed. Arriving was a little pin though because the cab driver did not know the street and on his way he... More

I found the A1 hotel a pleasant, efficiently-run base for my Moscow trip. The staff all speak English, which is a blessing in Moscow, and are happy to help with translation when asked. My room was ENORMOUS -- one might even say "cavernous" -- though of course I don't know if the other rooms are. There are gourmet cafes and... More
