This hotel, while I do not regularly stay at (5 times in 30 years) this hotel, I have seen it evolve to what it is today, and I have not yet gone back to the PHilippines where I have NOT at least dined in their coffee shop. The Del Rio is the closest thing to western living in Iloilo, since... More

Del rio is a simple /basic hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. Room service was prompt and again polite. I paid 100 pesos for wifi but was unable to get in my room. On many occasions I returned late about 11 am and had to open the front door myself, as the security gaurd was watching... More

The aging grande dame of Iloilo. You feel as if it is the 1930's, plus air conditioning. My "superior" room was fine with a terrace outside. Free wi-fi. They seem to have a huge staff (6 per room for cleaning + swarms everywhere all wanting to say "good morning"). A terrace (with pool) outside fronts the river, not that anyone... More

Good potential for the hotel. Ok location. But the rooms are so old. Needs refurbishing. Bathrooms is old. Bathroom fixtures barely work. Ran out of water twice. Once while bathing my son. So he had soap while waiting for water to flow again. Hotel needs an elevator. Have to go up three flights while carrying the kids or bags. But... More

I've stayed in this hotel twice in the past year and had a very good experience on both times. Rooms are very clean, staff are courteous and attentive. The breakfast buffet at a little over 200 pesos (~U$6) has a mix of local and international dishes-- great-tasting food! Location-wise it's in a busy part of the city, with lots of... More

Hotel fascade is impressive for a provincial hotel, rooms are clean, and cozy. breakfast needs improvement for 2 reason. 1. you need to go to front desk and get your breakfast coupon. 2. they have layout of hotcakes and a like but they dont serve pancakes at all! Hotel staff are mostly OJT. they need to train their OJT. we... More

The first thing you'll notice with this hotel is their superb service. Although airport transfer service is a bit high its reasonable coz we're 15pax and i paid 1t for a van. Hotel is clean and buffet breakfast which comes free with the accommodation is great with unlimited drinks. Hotel rooms are clean but the downside are the linens smelling... More

To be honest, I've never stayed at any other hotels in Iloilo City before, so my disclaimer is that I don't have a lot to compare it to in the area. In comparison to other hotels that I've stayed at though, this Hotel Del Rio is more of a Holiday Inn Motel type of quality. Holiday Inns now are actually... More

Because of the exterior and the information in the guidebooks (Lonely Planet and Rough Guide) you think this is a high end hotel. Wait untill you get to your room... Very dated and really noisy. You can hear the people next to you, above you, lots of streetnoise and what was most irritating: loud music in the stairway untill the... More

We have been regular patrons since the90's. However after this last visit we have decided to never come back. The roomswere way overpriced, about 800-1000 more than the newer, nicer hotels. The wifi isn't free and good for 24 hrs. The pool side restaurant service was so horrible that my father, husband and kids walked out and they went out... More
