Booked a Deluxe Room King for two nights with my partner. The room that was given to us was dated. As we were about to go to sleep we noticed that the "King" size bed is an adjoined bed made up of two smaller beds which made it quite uncomfortable. We complained about the bed and had to go down... I stayed in one of the executive deluxe rooms at the end of the corridor which is larger than most rooms. The decor seemed to me like the early 1990s complete with bidet. Otherwise it's a very professional Shangri-la, with almost everything that a business traveller needs, and a massive entrance lobby. The coffee shop dinner buffet was very extensive.... More

Up to this point the Intercontinental and Mandarin Oriental were great in my book, but the Intercontinental is a notch above. The special membership I could afford there is not open to non- special guests like me.

We arrived for a business trip and found the hotel very comfortable. Gym and spa was great and Conways bar an experience. The negative was the room service menu which was poor. Enjoyed the experience, the staff were terrific and service first class.

I've stayed here a few times for business with my father. I think I've gone roughly 5 times? 5 or 6? I've started to lose count. It's beautiful! I love having drinks at the lobby. The rooms are nice and the staff are sweet as well. I had a little trouble with the wifi and room detail (reserved no smoking... More

The staff here, in my experience, were as gracious, friendly and charming as the Philippino people we met in town. There was a natural good humour to the service which never felt cloying. Rooms were neat and comfortable, open spaces were generous with plentiful seating areas for meeting. The breakfast buffet was extreme in its variety (local and European) -... More

We got off the plane in Manila and missed the man picking us up he was there but we were so busy looking around we missed him eventually caught up to him. After being lead to an airport lounge where it was blissfully cool the wonderful staff took us the our hotel. We were greeted with armed guards and sniffer... More

This is a great hotel for business travelers. They have the best breakfast buffet with all types of international choices I really enjoyed the selection of fresh juices each morning. The hotel also has amazing restaurants. The shrimp in orange sauce at Shang Palace was superb. There are several other restaurants and shopping in walking distance. This was my second... More

This was my first trip to Manila and the Philippines so I was somewhat apprehensive since I would be working in the business district - Makati City for 10 days. Luckily I was traveling with a seasoned Manila visitor but she usually stays at the New World hotel. I knew very little about the Shangri-La chain but I had heard... More
