We spent our first night at Anaconda lodge and it was too rough for us. The next night we went to WASAI and loved it. it had AC, refrigerator, hot water, clean and no bugs inside the rooms. it had a great breakfast and a nice pool with a kiddie pool too. It over looked the river. NICE PLACE. I... More

This was a perfect location for me and my 2 young boys to stay before heading down the river. The town in vibrant and charming and one can only wonder what the bridge will do to change this lovely outpost..... bare bones rooms and services and although the pool area was being fixed, it was a wonderful place to cool... I ended up here on accident on a recent trip to the Amazon. We were meant to head straight to the Tambopata Lodge but we had a flight delay in Lima on that day were supposed to arrive and as a result- by the time we reached Puerto Maldonado- we had missed the boat. Since it is a 4 hour... More

This ecolodge is an excellent option for staying in the city center of Puerto Maldonado right next to the river and just one block from the main square, it is pretty nice since the nature surrounds all the bungalows and have a nice swimming pool next to the Madre de Dios River. For the first day or last day of... More

We stayed here for a night after having a great jungle experience with another company. I do not find this place worth $60 for a double room by any means. Our room and bathroom had been minimally cleaned, the curtains and bedclothes were old and stained, and it did not look like anything had been updated in the room since... More

It is a nice hotel to rest for a while before going to the jungle or spending a night or two. If you want they can order pizzas from restaurants in Puerto Maldonado and have them delivered to your room. Comfortable double beds, air-conditioning is almost mandatory and nice views from Madre de Dios river.

This is much different than the Wasai Tambopata Lodge, so do not get the two confused. The Wasai Maldonado is right in the town of Puerto Maldonado. There is air conditioning and a pool, but still no hot water. The food was good, but it was hard to beat the food at the Tambopata lodge. The afternoon that we arrived... More

It was lovely to come back from the other Wasai lodge to this one which was well designed, better maintained, had warm showers and exceptionally good food. By now, after three days in Tambopata we had become used to enjoying meals put before us with no choice; the one in Maldonado was positively a banquet with beautifully prepared fish and... More

Personally I love this hotel - one of my favorites in Peru. Second time staying here. As other reviews note, there are 2 Wasai. This review covers the old lodge on the river just a block from the main plaza. It is a rustic place with sloths, monkeys and other critters in the trees in this little patch of "old... More

Went here as the last day of our Tambopata 5 day/4 night. Room was large and clean, pool nice, warm shower great!!! Our guide, who had been with us the whole time, was excellent and the trip to Lake Sandoval was a highlight of the trip. We saw a large group of squirrel monkeys clamoring through the trees, as well... More
