The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, but the service is pretty average, and the food is quite bad and really expensive. We waited ages at every meal, and mains would come out 15 minutes apart, some never came. I was recently in Madang for the first time and stayed here at a local friends suggestion. My friend and I found this hotel to be one of the nicest hotels we had ever stayed in anywhere in the world. The property is beautiful and it is very secure even though surrounding Madang is not a scary place like Moresby.... more

A very scenic location and very pretty property. However, it's quite old and not maintained to the best standards. Some rooms have cockroaches running around. Stayed there on business for a week. Service standards are not too great aswell. more

New Guinea is an amazing place to visit . Madang is safe ,welcoming and friendly. The Madang Resort Hotel offered excellent accommodation and service for our group of 8 and helped to organise tours and sightseeing.
