Dolphin Lodge has a lovely view and a pretty location HOWEVER, there is no hot water for showers, no air conditioning, mosquitos attack even with netting; though their pr says it is all inclusive they charge you for every beverage. They ran out of food-even bread but did not make up for it so if you like eating the same... More

San Blas is a fascinating place to visit and Dolphin Lodge is well situated. Close to the airport, across from the Kuna village and near to rivers and beaches. You don't need to take away the rustic (or the cockroaches) but small things like fresh towels, sweeping out the room, and much much better food would take this from an... More

I can't say enough about my stay here. It was exactly what I wanted. Beautiful surroundings, an attentive staff, quiet, and a bit of adventure. This was my first time going off the beaten path. I normally vacation in major cities or all inclusive resorts, so this was a totally new experience, I landed at the airport (actually a hut... More

As our travel agent described before our visit, "You go to Dolphin Lodge for the Kuna Yala culture, not for the beaches." Likewise, you make this trip not for a luxury destination resort, but to see a different culture, a society that is evolving despite attempts to retain the past. A thought-provoking experience. Some notes: 1. The Dolphin Lodge people... More

This lodge, also called the Uaguinega Lodge was an ideal spot for truly getting away from civilization....no TV, no cars, no radio, and sun-heated warm water showers, The staff speak English, Spanish, and Kuna and are about as accomodating as possible. You can do as much or as little as you want. Visits to several Kuna villages were a delight,... More

I have never had such a wonderful experience. And, can you imagine our surprise having come from a rented house with A.C. and an inground pool, to landing on an airstrip in the middle of the jungle? The guide we'd been using on the mainland set this up for us. We litterally had no idea what this place was like,... More

Think Gilligan's Island type accommodations with running water and someone to cook your meals. The cabanas were well maintained and functional - doors with no locks and windows with no screens. With virtually no bugs and only 11 cabanas, how much do you have to worry about these things? There was electricity in each unit as well as a fully... More

Spent 4 days and three nights at this rustic island retreat owned by the Kuna Yala of San Blas, Panama. The accommodations were clean and better than expected; outdoor, private showers and functional toilets in each cabana. Balconies strung with hammocks overlooking the tropical waters. No beaches, rocky, drop-off shores. No screens, no locks, no air conditioning, no fans, no... More

I've been to the San Blas Islands twice. My first visit was to Dolphin Island. It is rustic, but, has all the amenities you really need. It was great to finally get away from the rat race and enjoy nature. The Kuna Indians are a very friendly people. Although they did not speak a lot of english we were able... More

This eco resort (formerly known as the Dolphin Lodge) is operated by the Kuna Indians of the San Blas Islands, just off the coast of Panama. Six of us flew from Panama City (about 40 minutes or so) and landed at the Aeropuerto de Mamitupu--a tiny little landing strip with a bamboo hut. We were met by our Kuna guide... More
