I've found in my travels that you are often rewarded when taking the trouble to travel off the beaten path. Los Cardones Surf Camp is a wonderful place right on the beach. ThAtAe cabins are spacious with nice cross-ventilation and adjoining shower facilities. The staff will go out of their way to accomodate you including preparing meals specifically geared to your dietary requirements. The Taxi arranged by Los Cardones went to pick us up in Playa Maderas. It’s about 3 hour’s trip, but will totally compensate after you get there. Los Cardonnes is a cracking place! Great surf on fantastic beaches without another person to see for 5kms either side. The place was a bit more money than we wanted to spend in Nicaragua ($65 per person), but it includes 3 healthy meals and all you can drink. Unfortunately the beer wasn’t ice cold like I am used to. Los Cardones is not exactly easy to get to which probably is one of the reasons we enjoyed our stay there so much. There are only 5 cabanas on the grounds.
