First the good news: Le Jardin des Douars is set in a spectacular location, its grounds are stunning, the architecture gorgeous, the food delicious and the service great. However, it is definitely best to avoid the hotel during Belgian school holidays when the place is overrun by friends of the owner - and their numerous kids. The effect is to... More

Hello Gareth, First, we thank you for your message. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the place, the architecture, the food and the service. We sincerely apologize if you and your kids did not appreciate the other guests and their kids we had on this week. Even if some places of the hotel are for adults only (a restaurant,... More

We went to Le Jardin des Douars for lunch, had a great time and wished we were staying there. Lunch at Le Jardin is "à l'ardoise" which gives you the choice between 5 plates and 2 desserts. We had the thai-style beef fillet which was juicy and tender, served with lots of fresh veggies and homemade potatoe fries. Service was... More

Wonderful place: beautiful gardens, very attentive and welcoming staff, great swimming pools, tasteful interior, very good and lively restaurant with reasonable prices. Perfect for those travelling with children. A small point of criticism: we found our room a bit smaller than expected, very dark (only one small window) and - depending on the guests in the neighbouring room - the... More

Great service, everyone smiling all the time Excellent food (Moroccan food obviously but also European food) Hotel extensions are great (quality rooms, 2nd 'quiet' swimming pool, SPA, hammam, ... ) Ambiance is great ("1001 nuits") - we would have appreciated brighter reading light in our room Showers were sometimes a bit slow, especially warm water during peak hour Golf is... After 2000 km in car around Moroc, night in the desert, visitng Fez, discovering Chefchaouen, this is the perfect place to relax some days. The garden can be an atraction itself, the rooms are decorated with style (we had the cheaper but we visitied an amazing suite), service is responsive and efficient, common areas are perfect. They were builing a... More

A beautiful (European standard) hotel about 15-20 mins outside Essouira. We had a slightly disappointing room at the back of the hotel - a shame as the hotel was obviously far from full (although we arrived when the hotel was full). We weren't checked in properly and so didn't get a good run-down of the facilities etc but the staff... More

Beautiful spot, a little bit in the middle of nowhere, along a river near to Essaouira. Relax, enjoy nature, the sun, the swimming pool, the great and tasteful decoration and delightful kitchen, not to mention the kindness of the personel. None of the rooms is standardized so make your personal pick. Suites are huge and overwhelming with great balcony views... More

We stayed here with our 18-month-old for 3 nights, and it was much too short. The staff is outstanding and they all seem to love kids, which might be at least one of the reasons so many families stay there. For example, during dinner, the staff set up a separate kids table for the 15 or so kids from different... More

I stayed at this lovely hotel in August. The hotel has 18 rooms, there were over 20 children staying and about 12 adults. The children ran around in groups all the time and quite frankly it felt like I was in a Butlins camp. It was a real shame because I had gone with my boyfriend for a romantic tranquil... More
