We were after a relaxing holiday with style and Dar Loulema provided just that. From the moment we were greeted at the front door of this exquisite paradise to the morning we left, service was first class yet discreet. Essaouira can be windy (being on the Atlantic coast) and the day we arrived was no exception so, after an evening's... More

Dar Loulema is a lovely Riad in the heart of the old town of Essaouira. It was welcoming, with rose petals in the fountain, and the most gorgeous terrace at the top of the building with views over the roof tops and the sea. It was a perfect calm retreat from the bustle of Essaouira (which is frankly not that... More

Dar Loulema is a beautifull-restored and elegantly furnished small riad in the medina of Essaouira. Staff are eager to help, breakfast on the terrace is excellent, and rooms are very comfortable. White is the predominant color in this riad, and it was an excellent choice, imprting as it odes a feeling of openness and spaciousness and setting off to advantage... More

Fabulous rooms, with beautiful moroccan tiling, and high ceilings. The hotel has a central courtyard that all of the rooms open onto. There are fantastic views from the rooftop, and loads of seating for sunbathing or reading books. On the downside, all of these great attributes create an echo-like chamber. Every noise is amplified, and there is no access to... More

This place was recommended to me by my mother, and what a gem! Right in inside the ramparts of Essaouira, the roof terrace alone made staying here worth it. Overall: - The rooms are good value and pretty (each decorated in the style of a different area in Morocco) - Breakfasts were abs (big teapots, lots of different kinds of... More

Like most dars and riads (hotels) in the old city walls in Morocco, the Dar Loulema in Essaouira had little to offer in terms of windows and light in the rooms. However, this was made up for with a sunlit roof terrace and great views of the sea coast and surrounding old city buildings. Breakfast and afternoon reading on the... More

Positives: Location (Golden); Room: Very Cute; Beds: Not great; Rooftop Terrace: (Golden); Entry: Feels dodgy but is safe; Seagulls: Noisy (not sure if any different at other places; People who ran the place were very sweet. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. Has a cute little ground floor sitting room/library with fireplaces. Like the thousands of other Riads/Dar throughout Morocco,... More

When we found Dar Loulema we were excited to be close to the ocean within the outer perimeters of the medina. After climbing 4 flights of stairs to the "suite" that had been reserved in our name we found it to be a shockingly small room for the 150 euros we had committed. The room bordered the top terrace of... More

I stayed at Loulema for 3 nights- in a suite. This was one of the more expensive accommodations in my two weeks in Morocco- and definitely the worst. The management (Natalie) was very warm- till the time I did my booking and got there. Once I reached, there was an indifferent welcome and no attempt at all to ask about... More
