We put in a few days by the coast to complement our stay in Marrakech. I guess most people fly into Essaouira but we drove from Marrakech (100 miles), a straighforward drive, calling in at a few points of interest including an argan oil concession, run by local women. I'd recommend that as a great way of seeing the countryside.... More

We'd been travelling for 5 weeks through Egypt and Northern Morocco, and needed a break. The small sleepy town of Sidi Kaouki, and more specifically Auberge de la Plage provided exactly what we were looking for. Great rooms overlooking the ocean, friendly people, great atmosphere, very clean. There's also a rooftop sundeck or a small lawn to relax on downstairs.... More
