We stayed here in September with our twin girls and our nanny and the Riad was really terrible. It is about to be refurbed and the attitude of the staff was really poor - every time we had an issue they suddenly had limited English!. We arrived at 1.00pm - after waiting 5 hours we carried our own luggage up... More

Our recent stay at Riad Gyvo is remembered with great fondness. We arrived late in the afternoon and were greeted in true Moroccan style, with quiet gentle politeness and a very real desire to be of service. We were given the choice of two rooms, one on the ground floor, or one overlooking the sea on the second floor. We... More

I fully agree with the previous post, e.g. quality of towles, bed sheets not changed in 1 week. The lamp in La Garconniere was so dusty we asked the reception to clean it. When we came back they had simply put another lamp in the room, which I found quite nice. The owner is very friendly and offered us oriental... More

We were excited about our second visit to Essaouira and had done lots of research about Riad Gyvo and were especially glad to read all the great reviews on trip adviser. However, the Riad has a new French owner (since April 2007) and most of the reviews mentioned the previous owners and said how great they were. We arrived late... More

We loved the Riad Gyvo! We're a family of four and stayed in one of the apartments, which suited us perfectly. A bedroom for my husband and I, and small single beds in the main room for my daughters. The apartment was spacious, clean and quiet. Breakfasts were yummy -- one morning we received a continental breakfast (everything was very... More

Riad Gyvo is owned by an art expert who has done a great job with the decor. The quality of the showers, sinks, and other necessities however is lacking - not terrible, but not up to the art on the walls and shelves. Service was a bit indifferent, but the location is good, the rooftop view is excellent, and the... More

We stayed in Souira, one of the studio rooms offered - as we didn't really think we needed a kitchen! However, the lovely lady who showed us around even took us on a grand tour (we're nosey like that...) and so we got to see that the more expensive apartments are very spacious indeed, perfect for those with kids. The... More
