We booked a 2 week deal to Biyadhoo through Marks Travel (highly recommended agent) travelling with Kuoni. We flew from Heathrow with Sri Lankan airlines - no complaints there, the flight was direct and on time. We were transferred to the island by speedboat, smooth sailing for about an hour or so. On arrival, the island looked perfect, white sandy... more

Went here a little dubious, but partner has done the research and was adamant that this was the island to learn to dive and to snorkel. It was wonderful - yes, other reviewers are right, some things are tired, old fashioned and in need of an update, but overall it’s wonderful. We flew with Sri Lankan airlines, very good, if... more

There are a lot of very good things about Biyadhoo - it's a beautiful, relaxed island, lush and green, with a great beach, a fantastic house reef and a professional and friendly dive centre. There is no internet and no television, so the original Maldivian "no news, no shoes" holiday philosophy is thriving here. Unfortunately there are a lot of... more

Having read the reviews here I was a little dubious about our trip beforehand but as it was such a bargain iIthought I couldn't complain too much as its the Maldives after all! When we got there it was paradise... the transfer from airport to speed boat and island was smooth, and on arrival greated to island with a cool... more

I have just returned from this resort and it was without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, place I have been to. Get the complaint over with, no cushions for the sun loungers. Things I would have like to have known before going. There is a 35 minute speedboat trip to the island from Male, beach... more

Beautiful island with excellant close in house reef, just 30 minutes by boat from Male. No need to scuba, snorkling just 2 metres outside the reef allows you to see a tremendous range of fish. Like swimming in a warm aquarium. Natural shade provided by huge overhanging branches. Sun umbrellas unnecessary. No need for early towels on sunbeds (nov/dec) as... more

When one looks at the resorts on the Maldives, especially the prices, I have to ask what I'm paying for. Yes, five star luxury is nice, but that's not why I go to the Maldives. I go for the amazing weather, the beautiful ocean, the sense of utter and complete isolation from the rest of the world and some great... more

We had a wonderful holiday and are off again in January. Diving was fantastic, all the staff were brilliant and friendly as they always are in The Maldives. We have been to a number of islands and much prefer the small basic islands like Biyadhoo. We go away for peace and quiet and great food and diving and that is... more

All the bad reviews need to be removed, yes it is dated, but so is the price, we went there for our 1 year anniversary (last year was Kuredu for our underwater scuba wedding) and Biyadhoo although not quite Kuredu as it is not so commercial/big, is a traditional island a propper island so to speak, very small and not... more

Yes the rooms are in need of an update but adequate, I feel cheated because I had a new fridge. We stayed in room 73 ground floor on a beautiful sandy beach. The reef is one of the best I've seen and being married to a diver I've seen a lot. The food is very good always something to eat... more
