We had a great stay at Helengeli, the island itself is very very pretty and a photographers dream :) The diving was also great, the island is unique since it has two house reefs and you just walk straight off the island into the sea, no need for boats which is a dream for someone as motion sick as myself!!... more

The Maldives are fantastic, and the reef at Helengeli was beautiful - the best I've ever seen. The rooms are *fine*: definitely not luxury (ie: tempermental air conditioning, uncomfortable bed, towels often not very clean). And for 50 rooms on the island, there were only 8 sun umbrellas! This is our fourth stay in the Maldives. And we really like Helengeli more than other resorts we satyed at (Taj, Meeru, Bandos) for the following reasons: 1. Helengeli is a beautiful little island offering great diving and snorkeling in a laid-back atmosphere with few frills. My wife and I stayed two weeks on the island and had a wonderful time!
