Our family stayed at The Kebun in March, and we had a great time. Adrian is a wonderful host - always available for information or advice or help. Having the use of the car with GPS and the mobile phone is extremely helpful. The food was great, and the property was a lot of fun to explore. Very close to... More

There is not a lot to add from the other posts. The place was perfect for our group of 7 (4 children aged from 3-12, plus 3 adults). Adrian's bungalow was a touch tight, but we made it work just fine. Adrian was an excellent host. Of course not everything works perfectly all the time, but Adrian was always available... More

Firstly I would like to thank daschick59 (Debb) for finding and booking this amazing place, I didn`t find it on Trip Advisor! This was our first ever trip to Borneo and my husband, myself and our two Aussie mates had the most amazing time. We stayed in Olivia`s Bungalow which is a quaint 2 bedroomed, air conditioned, wooden home with... More

This place is perfect! We loved the privacy and seclusion that came with staying in Adrian's bungalow, right on the river, with it's cool and spacious veranda. The owner, Adrian made us feel very welcome and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Our 2 year old had a blast (and so did we) visiting the animals and the gardens,... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 10 day stay at The Kebun. We stayed in Olivia's bungalow with our friends from England. Right from the very beginning our stay was amazing. Adrian is a fabulous host. Nothing was ever too much trouble! The food (included in the tariff) was delicious, made from fresh ingredients harvested from the... More

My family stayed at The Kebun for five nights in Feb 2013 and we have a wonderful time, the cottages Olivia and Adrian were comfortable, large, and well maintained, the owner, Adrian, took amazing care of us and made sure we had all the insider tips and knew exactly what to do and where to go, the meals were delicious... Lots of improvements since my last trip - the jungle 'plung pool' is probably the best. Walks around the grounds and vegtable gardens are getting better and better - lots of information about what grows and how it is used. Loved having the use of a car during our stay. Food, as always, is fantastic. Adrian, I can't wait to... More

We spent 5 nights at the Kebun and had a great action packed time. The bungalow had lots of space for us to spread out and all importantly hammocks to have a swing on the veranda. It was nice being close to the river with lots of birds flying around right outside the bungalow, along with a double kayak that... More

We have just got back from 4 nights at Olivia's bungalow at the Kebun - myself, my husband and my parents. Honestly, this place is really special. Lovely peaceful surroundings, fantastic hosts, and it was the little touches that made the difference - fresh bread every day, delicious fruit, great recommendations for where to eat, Adrian taking us to Bako... The Kebun was started 12 years ago as our plan for a retirement home in Sarawak, East Malaysia. Adrian’s Bungalow was put up after being disassembled from the movie set of The Sleeping Dictionery. Olivia’s was only put up only two years later when it was taken out of storage which was also disassembled from the same movie set. The farmstay side of the business only started in April 2010 after much encouragement from friends. The Kebun is not just accommodation, it is an experience. If you would like to get a taste for the basics of a simple lifestyle in a beautiful tropical setting, which is of fresh gardens of organic herbs & vegetables, picking your own tropical fruits, dining on fresh farm raised livestock, fishing for your own freshwater fish & simple accommodation with little impact to the environment, or even to help out with feeding all of the animals at the end of the day’s activities and again in the morning, then your are up for a unique Sarawakian adventure at The Kebun. ... more   less
