I wish I had read the other reviews on this place before staying. My fault I guess!! In summary: Pros: Good location in the middle of town & reasonably priced Cons: VERY noisy, unclean, underage staff who couldn't care less about you, small dirty rooms, dirty showers. My girlfriend & I (28 & 29, English) stayed here passing through to... More

Great location - close to everywhere in KK. Somewhere to (semi comfortably) lay our heads whilst enjoying Sabah. Aside from that it's your basic hostel. Not particularly clean or well looked after, noisy at night and the breakfast is horrendous (really, don't bother!) We did get a bit fed up with constantly having dirty feet from the floor of our... The hotel is centrally located (right in the middle of beach St) and was ridiculously noisy with a stage underneath the front facing rooms with very loud live music until around 2 am. After this you get the noise of the other bars and restaurants shutting up for the night/morning. The room was filthy dirty (i am not fussy and... More

The place itself looks ok but when we walked towards the rooms the whole bloody place smells of garbage because there's an open dumpster in the stairwell!! When we told the staff they said "oh the smell will be there a little longer only". Had to go sleep smelling garbage and wake up with it too. It's disgusting and unhygienic.

Rainforest lodge is the worst place I have stayed in a long time. The staff are apathetic, the rooms are small, the bathrooms were terrible (the drains were clogged, there was poo on the wall, the toilets didn't flush and the showers didn't work.) There was music until 12am - terrible, karaoke like music. Just terrible. Just don't stay.

We were quite happy to stay here. We booked one + one night, to get the second night -50%. (In the middle we stayed in the jungle for a few days). Service was good, atmosphere was good, rooms were clean and nice. Although: be sure to ask for a quiet room! The first night we had a very noisy room... More

We stayed here for one night. We took one look at our 'windowless' room and decided to switch to a room with a window. The windowless rooms smelt like disinfectant and very sterile. The only redeeming feature of the other room was that it had a window and a small balcony. The location is good but then KK is a... More
