The staff at this hotel are totally indifferent at best. During my 4 day stay, not once did the doormen welcome or greet me. In fact, I noticed that every time a car approached they would stand back and hide! Walked into the dilapidated gym and the attendant just looked up, didn't say a word and continued to use his... Came here for Rotary District 3300 assembly. Stayed here one night, overall I know that this is an old hotel which has not been refurbished from day one, hence was not expecting much. The air condition system is fantastic. However, the food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner, is a big let down. The next day we went out for... More

Stayed two nights at this hotel. The junior suite was an ill-shaped space on the 5th floor complete with cracked sink, missing bathroom tiles, stained floor in toilet and holes in the bathroom wall. The corridors are floored with thin grubbyfloor tiles which give an instantly bad image on arrival. Our room was above the local night club and sleep... More

I have been staying with this hotel regularly for the past 10 years. A great location to stay and move around easily, very centrally located. The rooms have been upgraded with new carpets and LCD TV's. The toilets are looking tired. The staff are all great and very helpful. Hope the hotel can improve the breakfast. Everytime, I stay there,... More

My family stayed one night at this hotel on Xmas day 2011. The location of the hotel is great as it is right in town with the Ipoh Parade shopping mall across the road. Check-in was fast considering that we were walk-in customers. Staff that we encountered were helpful and friendly. The room looks old and the bathroom has clearly... More

Stayed for one night in December 2011. The hotel must once have been grand in its heyday but now appears fairly worn. Regardless, the bed was comfortable, the buffet breakfast reasonable and the rooftop pool clean and welcoming. The hotel is currently under renovation so maybe things will improve. Staff were helpful and the location convenient for hunting down delicious... More

Syuen provides very basic accommodation. We stayed for 1 night, the room is big and as well as the beds but we do have some comments for the hotel management for further improvement. The carpet of the family suite at 6th floor is rather dirty and old. The bathroom fittings are old, water leaks from the tub and floor is... More

Stayed here for a night at their suite. The room was big and has two areas - one bedroom and study area and the other a lounge. There was a 32inch LCD in the bedroom and a 20inch CRT in the lounge area. The good - Big room. Complimentary tropical fruits. The bad - The room was devoid of ANY... More
