Located in a relatively quiet corner, but close to good hawker food within 100m. The rooms are simple but clean, slightly but noticeably better than the Merloon Hotel opposite. It is a perfect location for transit or short stay (1-2 nights) as using it as a base to tour or revisit Ipoh town and its environ. The rooms good for... More

Stayed a few days (only planned on one night.) It is in a great location. Room was spotless. Bathroom, (including hot water), beds and aircon all good. Staff were OK, nothing special, but it is hard to beat this hotel for quality in the same price range (we looked at quite few.) Very close to "Glutton Street" for lots of... More

It's an old hotel but it was well maintained. No lift so for those who have difficulty climbing stairs Try ask for first floor room. Big bathroom and good Air-con. All good food outlets are just around the corner.

Basic hotel, no fridge in room but one communal down the corridor but comfortable enough. No food/breakfasts here but can make tea or a coffee down the hall in tiny communal kitchen. This is more a motel with no frills. Set in Chinese area adn a couplemof muslim eateries a block or two away. No Lift -stairs only. Hot water... More

Stayed here for a night when in Ipoh. The Assistant Manager Mr. Singh was very helpful and gave us guidance on how to reach the various attractions and good places to try Malaysian cuisine. We opted for a triple occupancy room and found it to be slightly old with a huge bathroom. It overlooked a quiet street having quaint eateries... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in October. Wasn't really impressed at first - the reception area is in need of refurbishment & there is no elevator. However, the room was alright & met our expectations. Got the room with 2 double beds, it wasn't cramped and was quite clean to our standards. The 'must have' basic amenities - air cond,... More

Stayed a night and had a very pleasant stay. Very affordable (about US$20 to US$25), basic amenities, clean, friendly staff, located in the quieter part of old Ipoh town and convenient private car park. Superb location to stay and savour fantastic Ipoh street food, all located within half a kilometer - beef noodles, chicken rice, Ipoh bean sprouts, fantastic noodles,... More

Spent 2 nights in this hotel in aug. 2011. Rooms and bathrooms would need some serious refurbishment but are nonetheless rather clean. Air con and free wifi access. Location not the best but within walking distance from main POI in Ipoh. Very friendly staff. All in all quite a good bargain when travelling on a tight budget.

We only stayed here for one night and it really didn't leave the best impression. The room was littered with moth balls in every corner, which I suppose were there to masquerade the smell of stale cigarettes. The toilet flush didn't work and the curtains were plastic?? and dirty. The next day my hair smelt of cigarettes and mothballs and... More

Friendly staff, cheap hotel, but could be cleaner. There is no breakfast at the hotel but many restaurants nearby. Definitely a good option considering there is no much choice of good hotels in Ipoh. Having taken a drink at the majestic, definitely would go back to the new caspian if we had to.
