Each room and building is unique and vintage. Benefits the local animal sanctuary so lots of calm and friendly cats live around the buildings. Beautiful and comfortable old furnishings. Super food and helpful staff. Delicious salted caramel ice cream!

Temple Tree did not disappoint. Amazing service especially from the very friendly and kind Malay man who welcomed us (and whom when we wanted a bucket of ice for our champagne around midnight, got up and started to break up some ice from a large block-or so we think..we could hear them-. We were so embarassed for causing so much... More

This place is beautiful, and the location is great....unlike the loads of other hotels which are squashed by the sea it has special character. The staff are fantastic...we visited on our honeymoon and they treated us like Royalty. I think I left my heart to our house cat (despite having never considered myself a cat person before). In terms of... More

We spent three nights at Temple Tree, and it was fantastic. The colonial houses are relocated and rebuilt on-site, keeping their original features. We stayed one half of a large colonial villa. The room was huge - like a studio flat - and decorated well in keeping with the theme. The bathroom had an old fashioned wooden tub (which we... More

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and whilst it is a short ride from the beach, it was a wonderful experience. Each room is uniquely designed as an Malaysia building, each from a different island, which has been taken and rebuilt at this resort to form each room at this hotel. We stayed in Estate 1 - which... Temple Tree has been our home for the past five nights. I stress the word 'home' rather than 'hotel' etc. It has a wonderful feel to it and the staff are second to none. This is a fantastic resort. As is Bon Ton next door. I will not hesitate to stay again and will plan to return web able to... More

We stayed two nights in Penang 1 - half of a beautiful big wooden house. It was decorated impeccably and had two rooms and two bathrooms. The staff were fantastic and we were overjoyed to be greeted not only by three friendly cats, but also two large glasses of chardonnay on arrival. The resort is truly different and special. We... I spent two great nights at Temple Tree. A truly beautiful and relaxing place. Despite booking into the cheapest category of rooms (Estate room) the room was spacious and had character. I looked at some of the other rooms and there are some truly beautiful options. Currently they are running some great promotions so it is great value. Staff were... More

We had a lovely break in Langkawi at the Temple Tree. We decided to try it out after also having stayed at the Straits Collection in Penang which belongs to the same owner. Would truly recommend both to all travellers to Malaysia who are looking for a 'local' experience as all the accommodations are very tastefully done, right in the... More
