What more do you need. Ok its cheap and chearful but in this part of Malaysia so close to the expensive islands it was a nice break. The rooms are plain but clean and the staff are friendly and its good value. What more do you need unless your a 5* addict. More

We should have asked to look at the room first. We should have asked for a non smoking room. It really stank. The airconditioner really stank. And it was so noisy. If you are a three pack a day smoker who is very hard of hearing, this room would be fine. It was clean and the staff were nice. More

We stayed in this hotel twice, once pre-Tioman (after leaving Omar's Backpackers due to countless bed bugs - avoid!!) and another night post-Tioman. As reported in other reviews, a good basic hotel. Hot water, towels and a TV make it a step up from some budget accommodation, and we found the staff very friendly. Everything in the room, while not... More

Clean and decent if you need an absolutely no frills night's stay before heading off to Tioman. No lifts though, so need to be mindful if you have heavy luggage or can't do stairs. Great location - within walking distance of shops and jetty to take ferry to Tioman. Had aircon problems but this was quite promptly attended to. Typical... More

Stayed there 1 night, the day before catching the ferry to Tioman. This hotel is 1 or 2 star hotel, not so new, but just well maintained and it was clean. About 5 mins walking to jetty to Timoan. There was restaurant in downstair and Seven eleven was located just opposite of the road. This hotel was not fancy at... More

Nothing pretentious about this place. Rooms have air-con, separate lavatory/shower, local TV, comfortable beds. Towels etc provided. Reception extremely helpful. No lift, so higher floors can be a problem with heavy luggage. Excellent price (around 70 MYR for room for 4, I seem to remember, around £15 Sterling). Vital note - well-priced choice of excellent cold beer, cheap breakfasts and... More

We stayed for two nights in the Embassy Hotel in Mersing. It's nice but basic. We would recommend it for backpackers or midrange travellers. They offer aircon and fan rooms. We had a aircon room with TV and attached bathroom, the price was 55 MYR per night. The rooms are really big and clean, the bed is comfortable and you... More

The rooms are nothing special, accept that they are clean and near the busstation. So good for an overnight stay. Staff is friendly and helpfull. The restaurant downstairs is good/ cheap and has all kinds of beer. More

We stayed one night in Mersing after coming back from Tioman Island. Mersing is a good place to stay for a night or two but beyond that may not be very entertaining. Good to get groceries, check emails, etc but not much to do. The hotel was a good deal for 55RM for a night. We did unfortunately have a... More

Basic but clean hotel with friendly staff. On a busy road so ask for a room at the back. Probably best value for money in town. Full review at http://www.littlewhiteswan.com/Accom/az08/0836.html More
